But who made the ruling being discussed?

"U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson"

Hey, who appointed her?

Evidently who appoints judges is only significant to Politico when the judge was appointed by a Republican, not by a Democrat.

What blatant political bias!

But unfortunately all too typical in the media.
